Need Ideas
7:52 AM on Jun. 5, 2008
So, I need some ideas for generating more traffic.
FrenchSquared.com seems to be stuck at 70 visitors per day.

I have created a page on squidoo for everyone of my tutorials
I have created a page on hub pages for every tutorial

I have submitted everything to stumbled, facebook, twitter, myspace, and any other I found.

I have created a blog and post about my pages every few days.

My secondary pages(squidoo and hub) are indexing well, but my actual pages are not doing as well.

Any ideas?

Find (high traffic) forums around your topics, and participate in discussions giving quality advice and put your URL into your signature. It doesn't matter if it's marked nofollow or even not linked at all. If your posts are of good quality the members of the forum will want to know more about you and will visit your site. If your site interest them they'll come back, if not, well they're not your audience anyway.

You don't have to do it all the time, but don't abandon a lively discussion...

At least that's working for me...

I don't know if you have screen capture software to make videos with, so I uploaded a free one for you (and anyone else who reads this). It's for Windows.

If you don't need it, that's okay. Take care,

Next step would be Videos. Create tutorial videos and in the description, or your username on the video sites, make sure there's a link to your site. Make sure your keyword phrase(s) appears in the video description. Upload to as many video sites as you can, starting with youtube, google and revver. (REVVER - that's 2 v's, not a w).

Next, find blogs on your topic which are well ranked and/or talked about a lot. Help people who go there. Comment about what a great post the writer did, and add something the writer may have left out, or could have clarified or explained better. It'll get you on the map with the established leaders in flash tutorials. In turn, they'll eventually link to your site. (In you comments, you can link to your site, too, but always use "Gordon French" and never use a keyword phrase.

Well done on getting so much done! You'll be doing better and better pretty soon. And give the SEs a little time to catch on with all the links and re-index. Find out the last cache date on your main page, and use your google webmaster account to find out more on what they think your site is about.
